Statement of Purpose
Henderson County Home and Community Education is an organization affiliated with the University of Illinois and your local Extension Office. We have monthly meetings in which we have lessons on various topics and interests. Some of these are: Healthy lifestyles, cooking, gardening, children's issues, community issues, decorating, finances, quilting, and crafts. Henderson County Home and Community Education is also active in not only Henderson County, but also around the world. We sponsor a $200.00 scholarship to a student from Henderson County each year.

Each meeting will consist of a program presented by a unit member, a short business meeting, and some social time. Each unit elects its own officers. If your schedule is too busy to attend meetings there is also a mailbox membership available. As a mailbox member you will receive the monthly lessons, a newsletter, and be eligible to attend any of the unit or annual meetings.

Anyone is eligible to belong to the Henderson County Home and Community Education. Membership dues are $10.00 a year. If you would like to know more about HCHCE you can contact either of the e-mail address above.

TIES
Ties that bind the strongest, were never made of rope
Lives are held together by sturdy strands of hope.
Silver threads are blended daily, with pride in family life
Threads should not be embroidered on sleeves, but stitched to your heart inside.
Ties that bind the the strongest are spun from the spool of life
A lifetime of weaving builds ties of love, joy and trust, which you can develop into your threads for life.
